The holidays are here, and so is all of our Thanksgiving day cheer! We’re dispatching you from our intimate abode this year to share our celebration, which included only five guests yet portions to feed 30. While the gathering felt a little different than our usual extended family affair, we made the most of it with plenty of fall-themed decor (thanks, Mom!) and a Lord of the Rings marathon. With that being said, this season, we’re grateful for our health, the ability to be together, and Orlando Bloom.

While our little charcuterie board could never compete with those scattered over Instagram, it sure did the trick! My dad prepared this delectable pre-lunch spread with a balance of hard, soft, rich, mild, nutty, and sharp cheeses. Slap some of that pesto on a cracker with a piece of summer sausage and goat cheese, and you have yourself a dandy little sandwich!
The table setting always seems to be the highlight of our Thanksgivings year to year, thanks to our talented mother who has an eye for the best china, floral arrangements, and plate-toppers (see last year’s setup here). What I appreciate most is the contrast — it’s not all deep, muted autumnal tones, as she mixes in blue willow and pops of citrus and pink to add an unexpected flair.
The rest of the day, we had our previously noted LOTR binge, knocked out a J.Crew puzzle, and vultured off leftovers. On a more sentimental note, we want to express our gratitude for all of you, dear readers, for always following along, hyping us up, and consuming our email newsletters and Instagram stories. We appreciate you and your continued support ALWAYS. Thank you for being a part of the Penny Press family! Stay safe and enjoy the upcoming season.
End of autumn wishes,
Annabelle and Ellie
