We’re Ellie and Annabelle, and in case you didn’t notice, we’re starting a blog. We’ve always loved design and fashion but realized our calling for writing after joining our high school newspaper. We’re two sisters from Kansas City (third sister not included – but we swear she exists!).
Meet Ellie: Hey, I’m Ellie! I’m the older (but shorter) sister and I’m a junior at Elon University in North Carolina. At school, I’m involved in Student Government Association and the student-run advertising agency. At home, I’m involved in fighting with Annabelle over which clothes belong to who. Some things that remind me that life is sweet are Chipotle burritos, Tarantino movies, and oxford commas.

Meet Annabelle: Hi! I’m Annabelle, a student at the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism (#firstandfinest). I love all things creative/visual, day trips, baking things out of boxes, and being born in the television streaming generation. I’m also a self-proclaimed mac-and-cheese connoisseur, so if you want to debate Kraft vs. Velveeta, shoot me a message.

The Penny Press? Our blog title actually has a few origins. Yay, wordplay! Since our writing experience is rooted in journalism, we wanted our blog’s name to sound like a newspaper. The “penny press” is also a term in journalism history, but we’ll let Wikipedia explain that if you care. Oh, and we have a dog named Penny, so this is obviously just a shrine to her.
