Wow! We can’t believe the Penny Press has finally reached the terrible twos. Today marks the second birthday of our first post on the blog, and we couldn’t be prouder of this little guy. It’s been awhile since we last posted, but this little b-day celebration has reminded us to put our heads down and get back to work.
It’s not just the date that makes this the perfect time to hop back into the blogosphere. You might have noticed that we’re in the middle of a global pandemic (if you haven’t, you may have some larger issues). Being out-of-office has gifted us with plenty of time to start working on some new (and old) content. So expect to hear a lot from us in the upcoming weeks, and feel free to fit a few Penny Press posts into your oh-so-busy schedules. 😉
Both Annabelle and I are home from college for a while, so we’ve started to set new routines. This means finding our own “offices” in the house. I have monopolized the sunroom, which our mom had previously taken over as her painting room. The surroundings make for a relaxing workspace to help me get in a productive mindset: plenty of natural light, a view of the newly blooming trees outside, and pretty pinks and floral patterns. Oh, and all the vintage-looking paint supplies make me feel like I’m living out a scene from Little Women.
If you’ve been feeling cabin fever just as much as we have, our Wish You Were Here series should relieve some of your symptoms, starting this weekend. I (Ellie speaking!) have a truckload of photos and stories to tell from my adventures abroad last semester, and had never found the time to share them until now. You may not be packing your suitcase for any travels anytime soon, but hopefully these posts will let your mind wander. For now, escape with the Penny Press Spring Soundtrack, a mix of vibrant, good-mood songs perfect for background noise, sing-alongs, or dance parties (just stay six feet away from your dance partner).
Here’s to a great weekend, and the extra-long weekend we’ve been experiencing. We won’t be blowing out any candles (because, you know, germs), but we’ll definitely be practicing our “Happy Birthday” harmonies.
