Swiss Wonderland: Day 3 & 4

DAY 3

Yep, time for another excursion. We started the day off in power mode by going up the Alps’ “must-see,” the Gornergrat. When it comes to this mountain, size really does matter: this bad boy stands at 10,000 feet above sea level and gave us a panoramic view to write home about.

We topped off the morning with a pasta lunch on a balcony overlooking the main street. Something about good views makes a meal taste that much better.

The rest of the day was set aside for exploring the last drops of Zermatt before we leave tomorrow, and relaxing in the hotel’s gorgeous mountain spa. It all felt Sharpay Evans-approved. There was an option to go into the spa’s Naked Room, but we opted to stay in the clothed pool. That’s one Swiss experience we were fine missing out on…

Check out our next post to see what we wore this afternoon. We found time in between goat meet and greets and a dip in the pool to go on a photoshoot in town!

DAY 4

Today we bid adieu to the town that inspired the Toblerone packaging, and moved on to our next quaint town: Grindelwald. We started off with some drinks on the patio of our hotel, which overlooks the Alpine town. Though we didn’t think its could get any better than Zermatt, Grindelwald wins Miss Switzerland for its “I can’t believe it’s not Photoshopped!” scenery.

You thought we were just going to relax all day? Try again, sweety. Quite the opposite: we spent our afternoon chasing our lifelong dreams of being birds. Well, we strapped into Grindelwald’s First Glider and soared over the lush green meadows of the Alps. The hills were truly alive with the sound of screaming zipliners. We hitched a ride on some go-carts and channeled our inner Mario as we raced down the side of the mountain. Luckily, no one fell off today. The views were great, but staying alive is even more fun.
